Professional Wasp and Bee Control Course

A one day course aimed at those who control wasps as part of a commercial service offering.
A pest-specific module for those looking to have greater understanding as well as application skills (and comply with UK label competency).
Wasps are a seasonal pest and can be a significant health risk, considering anaphylactic shock.
As a result, wasps must be controlled on health/safety, as well as social grounds.
Developing skills and knowledge brings up-to-date understanding in insecticides (formulation and toxicity) as well as best practice around control options.
In accordance with the Code of Practice around Feral Honey bees, the course will also cover how to responsibly control established honey bee infestations.
This course will also cover statutory health and safety – including risk and CoSHH assessments and working at heights.
- To understand why Wasps present a significant risk to human health and general safety.
- To appreciate Biology; Behaviour and annual life-cycles.
- To develop a wasp management strategy.
- How to work through a CoSHH and risk assessment to ensure safe and best practice is consistently being adhered to.
- Managing and operating within codes of practice for feral honey bee control.
Classroom and practical training.
The course finishes with an examination at the end of the days training.
